This is a tough one. That’s why I consulted a quiz for advice. Turns out my spirit animal is a deer. Apparently I’ve mastered the art of being both determined and gentle in my approach. I like that. It’s defensively something to strive for.
Bio
Thomas Kaefel is a talented musician with a Master’s degree in Jazz from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). He kicked off his musical journey with a Jazz Drums Diploma from the Conservatory of Music Klagenfurt, studying under Erich Bachtraegl, and continued his education at the Los Angeles Music Academy, where he learned from top-notch instructors like Mike Shapiro, Ralph Humphrey, and Joe Porcaro.
Thomas has performed at international festivals, including the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy, Muhu Future Music Festival in Estonia, Jazzfestival Saalfelden in Austria, Jazz Ahead Festival in Germany, Internationales Jazzfestival Leibnitz in Austria, and Jazovia in Poland. He’s also done extensive touring across Europe and the USA.
Right now, Thomas is pushing creative limits with the artist Flora Fauna, and has been busy composing and performing multi-instrumental music for theater productions. He’s also a skilled vocalist, adding harmonies and backing vocals in both live shows and studio sessions.
When it comes to music production, Thomas works with Ableton Live and Logic Pro. He’s a seasoned composer, songwriter, and producer who runs his own studio—where he may record drums in the nude if that’s what it takes.
Outside of music, Thomas loves hitting the road on his bike, exploring new routes and enjoying long rides.
